One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home and sat down to eat. 37 When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. 38 Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them. (Luke 7:36-38 NLT)
First let me apologize for getting to this so late in the day. I slept in a little this morning after going to Cedar Point with the 7th and 8th grade classes on Monday. We had a great time. My laptop was in the church office, not in the house. So I had to wait until going to the office to write this. Of course I did not get it done. I did do my personal devotions, Bible Reading & prayers this morning before going to the office.
This event from the life of Jesus shows us that He was very approachable. The "immoral woman" came into the house where Jesus was eating and anointed his feet with an expensive perfume. Jesus did not scold her or send her away. (Some others tried to do. We will read about that tomorrow.)
We can always come to Jesus. None of our sins, failures, or broken promises will stand in the way. Jesus will welcome us, forgive us and help to follow Him. He is and always will be approach able for us as long as we live.
