One day Jesus left the crowds to pray alone. Only his disciples were with him, and he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” 19 “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other ancient prophets risen from the dead.”
20 Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”  (Luke 9:18-20 NLT)

Who is Jesus? This the most important question everyone needs to answer. The Disciples had just given food to 5000+ people. I'm sure they heard them talking about Jesus. This was the first Galilean Poll. They told Jesus what they had heard.

Then Jesus asked them that all important question, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered for the Disciples and confessed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Promised Savior and Son of God. This was the first time Jesus was identified by His Disciples as the Christ and turning point in His ministry. After this Jesus set His sights on Jerusalem where He would die on the cross and rise from the dead to pay for the sins of all people.

Who is Jesus to you?

My name is Larry. Right now I am serving as the Intentional Interim or Transitional Pastor at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Richville, MI. This blog is part of my daily personal time reading the Bible and talking with God. It is more of my personal thoughts than a deep theological discussion. Thanks for taking the time to join me in reading and thinking about what God has to say to us today.
