See and Tell

"They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished," (Luke 2:16-18 NLT)

The Shepherds didn't just go to see baby Jesus, they told everyone about Him. I can almost seeing them making so much noise that they woke up the whole village of Bethlehem. (That is the kind of "woke-ness" everyone needs.)The people were not annoyed. They were astonished.

We can see Jesus through the eyes of faith. Do we tell "everyone" about Him? Or do we keep Jesus to ourselves? We are told that we should not talk about religion or politics. We certainly talk about politics. Why not talk about faith?

We have the Good News everyone needs to hear. Everyone needs Jesus. He came as the Savior of all. There is no better time to start telling people about Jesus than today. Who will you tell? Maybe you can start with a conversation at home with someone in your family. A little practice talking about Jesus will help us when we have the opportunity to be Jesus' representative to someone else. Maybe the people we talk too won't be annoyed, they might be amazed by Jesus!

My name is Larry. Right now I am serving as the Intentional Interim or Transitional Pastor at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Richville, MI. This blog is part of my daily personal time reading the Bible and talking with God. It is more of my personal thoughts than a deep theological discussion. Thanks for taking the time to join me in reading and thinking about what God has to say to us today.
