Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon. 3 Give us each day the food we need,
4 and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation.” (Luke 11:2-4 NLT)
This is the model prayer for Christians. Jesus teaches us how to pray. He emphasis our relationship with God, our trust in God to provide for our basic needs, and our dependence on God's forgiveness and power to overcome temptations.
We need to learn to imitate Jesus' prayer, not just to say it without thinking about what we are saying. God wants to hear from us and is ready to answer our prayers.
