22 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
23 Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen. 24 I tell you, many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it.” (Luke 10:22-24 NLT)
A couple of things jump out to me when I read these words from Jesus. First, Jesus is One with God the Father. Jesus is the true Son of God, part of the Trinity, who reveals God the Father to us. There is no other "god." No one else has the power to help, forgive, renew and restore us to God's family.
Second, we are like the Disciples, blessed because we can see Jesus revealed to us in God's Word. We can hear Jesus speak to us in the Gospels. That is why it is so important that we read God's Word because doing that brings us closer to Jesus.
