You Can Count on Jesus

When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida. 11 But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick. (Luke 9:10-11 NLT)

After the Disciples returned from their first "on the job" internship event, they could not wait to tell Jesus about everything they had done. How excited are we to tell Jesus about everything we do every day in His name? Then Jesus tried to lead the Disciples away for some down time. But the people followed them.

Jesus could have sent the crowd away and told them that He and the Disciples needed some rest. But He did not. He took the time to teach them and to heal those who were sick. Jesus will never ignore us or send away. We can always count on Him to teach us, help us, restore us.

My name is Larry. Right now I am serving as the Intentional Interim or Transitional Pastor at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Richville, MI. This blog is part of my daily personal time reading the Bible and talking with God. It is more of my personal thoughts than a deep theological discussion. Thanks for taking the time to join me in reading and thinking about what God has to say to us today.
